ILLA Focus Conference: Corpus linguistics applied to extremist narratives: what are the implications for cybercrime analysis?
Location: MIR Neuville
International meeting coordinated by Julien Longhi from IDHN research center.
This conference aims to explore the relationship between extremist narratives and various forms of online criminal
activity, and focus on the way that corpus linguistics can contribute with insights and research findings. Its aim is to
raise the profile of current research in this area at CY, to bring together prestigious researchers in this field, and to
initiate potential collaborations on a topical subject with strong development potential. The research questions and
themes addressed will include:
• What are the challenges in characterizing the category of extremist narratives as forms
of cybercrime?
• How are the linguistic features of extremist narratives related to various forms of cybercrime?
• How can annotation schema and corpus linguistics help with cybercrime investi-gations?
• What are the possible links between Corpus linguistics applied to extremist narratives and artificial intelligence
approaches?
Local partners such as the PJGN, or CY players such as CY Tech, may also be contacted, and interested in such an
