Thematic months
CY Advanced Studies Institute is launching a new programme called “Thematic Months.” The aim is to organise intensive periods of teaching and research lasting between three and eight weeks.
The "Thematic Months" programme provides an opportunity to organise an intensive teaching and research period involving a substantial number of master's and PhD students, post-doctoral researchers and early-career researchers.
The organisers must be affiliated to an academic institution, but membership of the CY Alliance is not compulsory.
Duration: the minimum duration of a programme is three weeks, with the possibility of an extension of up to eight weeks. .
Funding: a budget of up to €25,000 may be allocated for a three-week thematic programme, representing at most 70% of the total budget managed by the organisers.
For a two-month programme, the Institute's budget allocation may reach €50,000. The organisers are required to submit a detailed budget as part of their application. It is expected that a substantial part of the Institute's allocation will be used to support young participants, for instance by covering their accommodation during the programme.
How to apply: to apply for a thematic programme, organisers must complete the application form and submit it, together with the required documents, to cyas@cyu.fr, with a copy to the Director of the Institute. There are 3 possible periods of applications per year, with the following deadlines: March 5, June 5 and November 5. The organisers will be informed of the decision on their application by the end of the month.
