International Summer school - Entering a New Era in Regenerative Medicine: Challenges and Strategies of Tissue Engineering
Location: Cergy & Paris, France
Summer school coordinated by Amel Houaoui, Emmanuel Pauthe and Sebastien Péralta from ERRMECe research center.
This international summer school focuses on the challenges and new strategies to be implemented to face the complexity of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Its aim is to highlight and apply new methods of elaboration, characterization and study of in vitro and in vivo biological response in the development of innovative biomaterials optimized for the complexity of the tissues to be repaired. Through open presentations accessible to all CY trainees, researchers and students, it will show that conventional methods for developing these innovations need to be adapted to these challenges. International guest researchers, such as Prof A. Pêgo (Portugal), Prof M. Prieto (Spain), Dr C. Levisage (France) and North American researchers Prof Garcia, Prof Kuhn (USA) and Prof Santerre (Canada) will be on hand to shed light on advances in regenerative medicine from a variety of angles. Practical workshops, with contributions from ERRMECe, I-Mat, the Department of Biology, Laboratory for Vascular Translational Science (LVTS, Université Paris Sorbonne), Laboratoire de Chimie de la Matière Condensée de Paris (LCMCP, Université Paris Sorbonne) and URP2496 (Université Paris Cité) will be set up to illustrate new strategies under development. Participants will learn about academic and industrial research, how to apply for funding of excellence (ERC, for example), and share privileged moments of exchange during the “Meet the professor” lunches that will be organized.
