AI for the humanities, the humanities for AI: crossdisciplinary perspectives
Location: Maison SHS Annie Ernaux, Cergy, France
Winter school coordinated by Mathias Quoy from IDHN research center.
Since the creation of the IDHN, many multidisciplinary projects and work have led to significant advances, thanks to the specific knowledge of the two fields of research: on heritage, for example, the combination of research in history, arts and literature, with the latest advances in ontology and data processing, has produced innovative results; similarly, on
applied subjects such as gastronomy, sport or security, the combination of digital and human sciences has been a driving force for innovation. With the growing use of AI in various areas of the humanities (authorship analysis, linguistic expertise, text and image generation), the IDHN is facing new challenges. We will be looking at the contributions of new
AI techniques for the digital humanities, as well as the interest of the digital humanities in interpreting algorithmic results. The presentation sessions will combine speakers from AI research and the humanities. They will focus on several themes: AI and texts, AI and images, AI and heritage data, and AI and ethical and legal aspects.
