Raphaël Krikorian is professor of mathematics at CY Cergy-Paris Université
Many systems from Physics display both harmonic (periodic, quasi-periodic) and chaotic (unpredictable) evolutions. I will try to describe how the theory of dynamical systems gives a mathematical framework to understand this fact.
