The Inequality and Social Welfare Theory Winter School brings together, for a 5-day residential stay, the community of researchers interested in the analysis of economic and social inequalities, both from a theoretical and applied point of view. It provides an opportunity to synthesize recent advances in research in these fields, through advanced courses given by leading researchers in the field, and to discuss current research projects.
The Winter School is aimed at a wide audience, from thesis students to more advanced researchers. Each year, it attracts around 60 participants, doctoral students and international researchers.
Initiated by the University of Verona, it has been organized since 2006 by a network of international researchers including the University of Montpellier, CESifo (Center for Economic Studies and ifo Institute at the University of Munich), the London School of Economics, the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and CY Cergy Paris Université (THEMA laboratory), and since 2009 under the aegis of the Society for the Study of Economic Inequality (ECINEQ).
