The Workshop on Deliberation, Belief Aggregation, and Epistemic Democracy will occur from Wednesday, May 30 to Friday, June 1 at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris. This interdisciplinary conference will bring together researchers in philosophy, theoretical economics, formal political science, computer science and mathematics who have been independently studying similar questions: namely, opinion formation dynamics, peer interactions and deliberation in social groups, and the implications of these phenomena for the epistemic competency of collective decisions.
There are fifteen invited speakers. Each speaker will deliver a one-hour presentation, followed by fifteen minutes of questions and discussion with the audience. There will also be several "open panel discussion sessions" of one hour duration, in which everyone can participate.
Everyone is welcome to attend the conference, and there is no admission fee. However, registration is required to predict the number of participants. As the conference approaches, I will set up a registration website. If you need further information,
