Venue: Sorbonne Université, Paris

We propose to set up a two-days international meeting focused on the field of non-proteinogenic amino acids. It will be organized under the auspices of the French Peptide Society (Groupement Français des Peptides et des Protéines, GFPP). Similar thematic symposiums have been organized by the GFPP this last decade. These events have been very successful, each bringing together nearly 100 international scientists.

The meeting will be dedicated to the use of non-proteinogenic amino acids in peptide science. To our point of view, this could be a unique opportunity to focus on this emergent field. According to the Web of Science database, this field has received a total of 4600 citations last year, whereas only 700 were found twenty years ago. The meeting will cover a large range of topics ranging from synthetic methodologies to applications in biology and biophysics. Contributions related to the synthesis of non-proteinogenic amino acids and their incorporation in peptides or proteins by means of chemical or biological approaches, such as SPPS, auxotrophic host strains, aminoacyl-tRNA synthetase engineering or cell free, as well as applications in the field of chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, biomaterials or biophysical studies will be particularly welcome.

The official language of the meeting will be English. Contributions will be presented as oral communication or poster presentation.

The meeting is organized by scientists from the University of Cergy-Pontoise and Sorbonne University.
