Organizers: V. Jaksic (McGill), F. Koukiou (CY), A. Shirikyan (CY)
This series of lectures will take place on Thurdays at UCT 12 and is open to PhD students and researchers.
Syllabus
A brief historical introduction and some physical arguments on open quantum systems (heuristic approach), and a brief introduction to the classical stochastic filtering theory (reference probability method);
Introduction to quantum filtering theory (reference probability method), and stochastic master equations in diffusion case (describes the time evolution of the state of finite-dimensional quantum systems undergoing continuous-time measurements );
Introduction to stochastic control theory, and literature reviews on feedback stabilization of spin-J systems undergoing imperfect continuous-time measurements with known initial states;
Exponential feedback stabilization of spin-1/2 and two-qubits systems undergoing imperfect continuous-time measurements with known initial states;
Exponential feedback stabilization of spin-J and multi-qubits systems undergoing imperfect continuous-time measurements with known initial states;
Robustness of stabilizing for spin-1/2 systems undergoing imperfect continuous-time measurements with unknown initial states;
Robustness of stabilizing for spin-J systems undergoing imperfect continuous-time measurements with unknown initial states;
Robustness of stabilizing for finite-dimensional quantum systems undergoing imperfect continuous-time measurements with unknown initial states and in presence of delay in feedback-loop.
