Workshop on Artificial Intellgence applied to Extreme Narratives Dection in the Online Discourse AI4EN

Venue: Salle CURIUM - Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Electronique et de ses Applications (ENSEA) 6 Avenue du Ponceau, Cergy

International conférence coordinated by Michèle Linardi, CY ETIS laboratory.

Socially Unacceptable Discourse (SUD) analysis is a hot topic in sociology and linguistics. These fields have a great interest in SUD automatic detection across online texts, and this indeed is one of the main objectives of the ARENAS European project, where several heterogeneous CY researchers work on the proposal of new cutting-edge AI technology applied to SUD analysis. Professor Julien Longhi and Dr. Linardi Michele, along with their research team, aim to organize an international workshop that will take place at CY University and will bring interdisciplinary researchers together to discuss groundbreaking research in the SUD automatic analysis area. The total workshop duration will be one day (9 am - 5 pm) and will permit us to have time for six presentations and the time for a concluding panel and discussion. We plan to have three presentations from CY researchers working in the ARENA team and another three given by prominent international researchers, whom we will invite for this occasion at CY Université. We expect around forty participants in the workshop audience with various experiences: Ph.D. students and faculty members of CY Université. As a workshop outcome, we expect to increase the visibility of the ARENA team working on the topic and the visibility of CY Université in an international context. We are also confident that we will establish fruitful collaborations, preparing the proposal for a workshop (organized by CY members) at an international conference.
