Workshop in Gender and Family Economics

Webinar in Gener and Family Economics in Thema, and researchers specialized in these issues at CES at Paris 1. The first edition of the workshop took place on December 18, 2023, at Thema, focusing on the theme of marriage, with presenters from various European universities: Alison Andrew (University of Oxford), Matthew Curtis (University of Southern Denmark), Simon Weber (York University), and Giulia Tura (Bocconi). This first edition brought together nearly twenty people in person. Participants appreciated the small workshop format, which encouraged exchanges. The second edition of the workshop will take place on May 31 at CES and will focus on gender gaps in cities. Two presenters have already confirmed their attendance: Ana Moreno-Maldonado (U. Mannheim) and Aline Butikofer (Norwegian School of Economics). We are still awaiting confirmation from two other presenters. The third edition in December 2024 will take place at Thema, still featuring four presentations from guest speakers from European universities. The workshop will be open to the public, who can attend both in person and remotely. The theme of the third edition of the workshop has not yet been defined, but it may focus on topics such as gender-based discrimination, fertility, environment, and gender...
