16th HISRECO Conference

Venue: Université de Pennsylvanie, USA

International conférence coordinated by Yann Giraud, CY AGORA laboratory.

Since 2007, HISRECO has brought together researchers from various backgrounds to study the history of economics in the postwar period. The increasing availability of archival materials, along with the development of new perspectives inherited from the larger history and sociology of knowledge, has helped to provide insightful histories of the development of recent economic practices, ideas, and techniques. In particular, this area of research offers good opportunities to young scholars who are interested in interdisciplinary approaches to the history of economics. Yann Giraud is co-organizer of the conference since 2010 and HISRECO has been organized at the Université of Cergy-Pontoise three times (2013, 2015 and 2018). Those conferences, which are highly appreciated for their format (a 2-day workshop in which relatively small groups discuss drafts everyone has read in advance), their openness to young scholars and their multidisciplinary aspects (over the years, we received economists, historians, sociologists and political scientists), have contributed to renew research in the history of economics and to position CY Cergy Paris Université as a major center in that field.
