Workshop on Embodied Intelligence for Assistive Robotics: Paris

This two-day research workshop focuses on embodied intelligence, a critical frontier in AI and robotics. It will be a follow-up to a sister research event that would be organized in London in May 2026 in order to bring together leading and emerging researchers from King’s College London and premier French institutions to foster new synergies. Our goal is to combine King’s world-leading expertise in robot manipulation, tactile perception, and multimodal perception with France’s remarkable achievements in robot navigation, long-term learning, and behavioral adaptation. Apart from researchers’ presentation, the workshop includes discussion panels around the main research topics listed above and roundtables on consolidating the common research directions that would already be defined and discussed in the first scientific event. The primary, tangible outcome will be the joint development of a detailed framework for submitting a grant application to the Horizon Europe Cluster 4 (Digital, Industrial, and Space) project, targeting submission in the final trimester of 2026. By fostering deep integration between our complementary research teams and empowering junior researchers, this investment will lay the foundation for a long-term partnership and potentially lead to significant breakthroughs in creating robots that can operate intelligently and safely in complex human environments.
