Perspectives and challenges in science education (doing and disseminating science, inclusive education, scaling up)

These study days are a scientific animation strategy in the didactics of scientific disciplines (mathematics, life sciences, physics, chemistry, and geography). They aim to examine how scientific knowledge is disseminated inside and outside classrooms, to address the challenges of inclusive education in connection with SDG4, and to tackle the issue of scaling up by articulating qualitative and quantitative approaches. Therefore, the event is structured around three main themes. The first, Doing and disseminating Science, focuses on the mediation and circulation of scientific knowledge both within and beyond the school context, and examines their impact on learning and teacher education. The second theme addresses inclusive education, with a particular focus on scientific content and disciplinary practices in order to better understand how scientific knowledge and activities can become accessible to all learners. Finally, a cross-cutting theme, scaling up, explores the articulation between qualitative and quantitative approaches in order to strengthen the societal and policy impact of research in science education. Designed as an open forum, the event will bring together researchers in didactics, educational sciences and scientific disciplines, around plenary lectures, workshops, presentations of ongoing research and small-group sessions, in order to foster new collaborations and research projects.
