From Animals to Animats: Simulation of Adaptive Behavior

Venue: CY Cergy Paris Université, Amphithéâter E1, site Saint Martin

International conference coordinated by Lola Canamero et Philippe Gaussier, ETIS laboratory

The biennial “From Animals to Animats: Simulation of Adaptive Behavior” Conference brings together researchers from disciplines as diverse as ethology, psychology, ecology, artificial intelligence, artificial life, robotics, neuroscience, philosophy, engineering, and related fields to further understanding of the behaviors and underlying mechanisms that allow natural (animals) and synthetic (animats) agents to adapt and survive. This edition of the conference will celebrate its 30th anniversary, with a focus on a critical self-reflection about the advances over the 30 years of this field, and how the sciences and technologies of adaptive behavior can move forward to address the new scientific, environmental and societal challenges.
