Gender Norms and the Labor Market

This will be the 5th edition of the Family and Gender Economics Workshop, jointly organized by the organizers of the Workshop in Gender and Family Economics at Thema and CES at Paris I. The 1rst edition on “Marriage” took place on December 2023, at Thema. The 2nd edition on “Cities and Gender Inequalities” was held on May 2024, at CES, focusing. The 3rd edition on “Gender, Environment, and Social Dynamics” took place on December 2024, at Thema. The 4th edition on “Women in Academics” tool place at CES on June 2025. The 5th edition on “Inheritance and Fertility” will be held on December, 19 2025 at Thema, maintaining the same format of four presentations by invited speakers from European universities, followed by discussions. The theme of the 6th edition has not yet been defined, but it may address topics such as the interactions between the labor market and the marriage market or “generative IA and gender”. The workshop will be open to the public, who will be able to attend either in person or online. Previous editions have gathered an average of around thirty attendees on-site. Participants have particularly appreciated the workshop’s small format, which fosters engaging discussions and exchanges.
