3rd International conference on Health monitoring and retrofitting of existing structures (HAROS)

Many countries around the world are facing a major challenge in quantifying and ensuring the safety of their built heritage and infrastructure networks, which are exposed to various risks and are aging in service. These structures are sometimes subjected to severe and accidental environmental conditions that reduce public safety. Engineers must therefore be able to monitor the performance of civil engineering structures and monuments throughout their life cycle, for socio-economic reasons related to the high costs of construction and rehabilitation.
After two successful editions at CY Cergy-Paris university in 2023 then at Lorraine University in 2024 of HAROS conference, the 2026 edition aims to continue this momentum. This edition is supported by the Young Members Group of the fib (International Federation for Structural Concrete). The objective of the conference is to explore new and intelligent techniques and practices for structural health monitoring (SHM). Particular emphasis will be placed on the role of new technologies and artificial intelligence in the field of monitoring and maintenance. The conference will also address the impact of extreme climatic conditions on the performance and durability of the built heritage. Finally, the event will partly focus on sustainable rehabilitation.
We warmly invite the scientific community, professionals, and decision-makers to actively participate in HAROS 2026, to share their experiences, and to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practices in this crucial field.
